Alissa Roca

Alissa Roca, soprano, has been praised for her ethereal coloratura and clear, powerful, expressive voice. She is particularly known for her work in contemporary music and has premiered over twenty pieces including a full-length concert drama and a set of songs of her own texts.

She has worked as a soloist with the Dallas Symphony, The Dallas Winds, Opera on the James, the Meadows Symphony, the Miami Bach Society, Voices of Change, the University of Texas New Music Ensemble, Duke University, and spent three years starring in The Dallas Opera’s touring productions of Mozart’s Bastien and Bastienne and Offenbach’s Pépito. She has also produced and performed dozens of solo recitals and tours. 

Roca holds both a Master of Music and a Performer’s Diploma from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Miami.

This season’s highlights include Berta in il Barbiere di Siviglia, featured artist in A Musical Grand Tour and Resident Artist with Opera on the James.
